The Power of the Sun on Your Head: EcoFlow Launches Solar-Powered Hat

EcoFlow has introduced its Power Hat, a wide-brimmed headpiece equipped with solar panels to charge your devices. Priced at $129, this innovative hat combines sun protection with power generation, making it the latest must-have for tech enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike.

The Power Hat features a brim lined with flexible PERC (passivated emitter and rear contact) monocrystalline silicon solar cells. These cells offer a charging capacity of approximately 12 watts through both USB-A and USB-C ports located under the brim. According to EcoFlow, it can fully charge a 4,000mAh smartphone in as little as 3–4 hours. This capability is perfect for those who need to stay connected while exploring the great outdoors or navigating sun-soaked environments.

Weighing just 370 grams, the Power Hat is designed with durability in mind. It boasts an IP65 rating, meaning it’s dust-proof and resistant to water jets from any direction. While this rating ensures the hat can handle everyday splashes and rain, extreme water exposure—like that from a super soaker—might test its limits.

Available in two sizes, the hat is adjustable from 56–58 cm (22–22.8 inches) for the smaller size and 59–61 cm (23.2–24 inches) for the larger. EcoFlow has opened preorders for the Power Hat until August 31st, with shipments expected to begin in mid-September.
